If you grew up in Spokane, you know about Expo ‘74. If you didn’t, basically Spokane was the smallest city to ever host a World’s Fair, and in a lot of ways it pushed the city to create the much-needed infrastructure for the city to keep growing into the place it is today.

Creating these illustrations was both an honor, and very daunting. We consulted with different boards for each pillar, and we faced challenging design problems such as making sure our tribal partners felt well represented, and that each of the activities Spokane is best known for were pictured. At the end of the day, I am proud of what I created and it has been surreal to see my Illustrations all over the city.

My part in this project was crafting the illustration style, creating the illustrations, and making billboard and poster designs. From there, Riverfront Parks agency of record, DH, used the designs to create many graphics throughout the park. The layouts are not mine, but the illustrations were created by me. This project was completed under the creative direction of Chelsea Hendrickson for Treatment Creative.
